Catching Up

I've made it to Oklahoma.  Today was my first full day living in a new state, which started off with a job interview at Target.  Run of the mill, holiday hire, I should start next week.

Anyways, I have a few pictures from yesterday and today that I wanted to share.  The traveling was fairly uneventful.  My boyfriend and I woke up at 4 in the morning Sunday to drive to the airport, sad goodbyes and no pictures from that (because who wants to see that?) and I forgot to get a real breakfast before I boarded the first flight south.
Found this is the Dallas airport. I want one for my house.
Welcome to Texas

I went on a little walk around part of the base, and found some semi-sketchy buildings.

I've decided this place would be great for shooting a horror movie.  It's got the very quaint feel to it while still managing to be super creepy.

And, I just remembered I'm a day late on my Thankful days list so here is D through L to cover tomorrow, too:

D - I'm thankful for my dad for being so helpful through the moving process and everything else in my life.

E - Elephants for being so damn cute I could die.

F - Friends and family for being there when the shit hits the fan (and when it doesn't, but mostly when it
does) and distracting me when I need to be distracted.

G - Grandma! I'm so thankful I got to spend time with my grandma before I left.

H - I'm thankful for Hannah and hamburgers and having hands.

I - Ice cream, ice, iced coffee (if you know me, this is no surprise), iPhones, aaaand instagram.

J - Jeans that fit well, justice, Jones soda.

K - Kevin Hart, Katy Perry (I just watched her movie, soo good), and kindness.

L - Love, lazy days, lessons, learning, Lindt chocolate.

This list may have seemed a little less deep than some people on Facebook, I was just trying to think outside the box a little more and I'm totally serious about all of them.  Happy Monday (which is really Tuesday for a lot of you) and I hope you have a good week!

Things I've Learned From My Brother

As some of you may already know, I come from a fairly large family (3 sisters and a brother) which rarely leaves room for dull moments.

My brother, Brandon, is turning 18 tomorrow!  I am so proud of him for sticking it through high school and getting everything into place so he can graduate in a month and he's become such a great guy because of all of the work he's done.  Congratulations, little brother, on everything you've accomplished and I couldn't be happier for you.  I know this is a big year for you and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Things I've Learned from Brandon:

  • Music is sometimes the only way to explain how you feel and can often explain it better than you can.
  • Being a peacemaker is hard, so when in doubt, make them laugh.
  • There's a lot to be said about the value of hard work.  There's also something to be said about sleeping until 5 PM.
  • Don't be afraid to be goofy.  You can be your own best joke. But don't worry, people will still take you seriously.
  • Homemade costumes can be just as great as store-bought.  However, homemade costumes are easier to fit over casts due to over-confidence in your Spidey Senses.
  • Be interesting. Be amazing. Be a super hero.

Week 10

I'm not entirely sure if this one counts because of who it involved, but in my head it still counts.

This week, #9: Give someone home made art, was given to Tom, my 'boything'.  He has been talking about getting a tattoo for a while, and if you have access to my Facebook page, you may or may not have seen that he got his first one (yay!) a little over a month ago.  As those of you with tattoos know, you can't just have one.  It started a whole new addiction in his head, like it does most of us, and now he wants another one before we go up to Boston for Zombie March in May.

Unfortunately, his idea for the tattoo is pretty unique and after several hours of searching and poking around on the internet, we have only found one other person with this particular tattoo.  That being said, someone had to draw it and (even though he draws what are technically blueprints for a living) I volunteered.

So this is the idea, please ignore the spiral in the middle, I have a very shaky hand and I can't draw a nice circular shape to save my life.  Rulers are my friend.  Happy Sunday!

(Speaking of Sunday, who's excited for Walking Dead tonight?  It's going to be INTEEENSE!)
