Five Days + Update

So, with five days left in Connecticut, I figured I would take a minute to show you some stuff I've been up to in the past month.

I have been doing a lot of makeup (mostly on myself for work) but I'm pretty proud of them.

Fairy inspired.  Unfortunately the light purple blush and glitter didn't show up very well.

Tom and I went hiking at Sleeping Giant again.  This was where we went for our first 'date' so we decided to come back to it before I left for a while.
On top of the mountain!
And a few weeks before our hike, I went to New York for a Makeup Forever class, which was all Halloween makeup, with my friend, Cali.  It was a lot of fun and I hope I'll get the chance to go to New York again before I leave, I'm trying to convince Tom to go on Saturday, but we'll see how it goes.

This week I have plans to see a few Sephora girls again, have a little lunch date with my grandma, get a tattoo and hopefully have one last adventure with my siblings in Connecticut before I'm off to see my sister and brother-in-law in Oklahoma.  More pictures and updates to come, probably on a daily basis this week.
I hope you're all having a safe Monday.

Things I've Learned From My Brother

As some of you may already know, I come from a fairly large family (3 sisters and a brother) which rarely leaves room for dull moments.

My brother, Brandon, is turning 18 tomorrow!  I am so proud of him for sticking it through high school and getting everything into place so he can graduate in a month and he's become such a great guy because of all of the work he's done.  Congratulations, little brother, on everything you've accomplished and I couldn't be happier for you.  I know this is a big year for you and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Things I've Learned from Brandon:

  • Music is sometimes the only way to explain how you feel and can often explain it better than you can.
  • Being a peacemaker is hard, so when in doubt, make them laugh.
  • There's a lot to be said about the value of hard work.  There's also something to be said about sleeping until 5 PM.
  • Don't be afraid to be goofy.  You can be your own best joke. But don't worry, people will still take you seriously.
  • Homemade costumes can be just as great as store-bought.  However, homemade costumes are easier to fit over casts due to over-confidence in your Spidey Senses.
  • Be interesting. Be amazing. Be a super hero.

Zombie Jesus

Happy Easter everyone!  As promised, I have two acts of kindness today, but I don't really know if they count as part of the list.  I bought the family breakfast this morning, which isn't on the list at all, but I still think it counts, and I also bought my grandmother a calla lily plant for Easter, which I suppose counts as #2: Send flowers.

Cute Easter donuts.

Breakfast of a champion.  Poor bunny...

Pretty flower =)

Hannah and I dressed up and got a little silly taking pictures before leaving for my grandma's house.

It was pretty nice out today (50s, but still windy and kind of cold) but yesterday was absolutely gorgeous.  It was something like 55 degrees and sunny, so it officially started to feel like winter was really over.  Tom and I went to the car wash.  It sounds silly, but I love going through the car wash!

I hope everyone had a good weekend!  Walking Dead finale tonight!!!
